God uses broken people

to do wonderful things

Meet Joshua Priddy.

He had to lose everything. So that God could show him what he really wanted.

He is the director and founder of Burn Bright Ministries. He’s traveled to 30+ states and he’s been walking out his faith for years. Helping people all along the way to heal, grow and awaken to God.

But that’s not how he started.

You see, he didn’t grow up in church. Never read the Bible. He lived his life with an agnostic and worldly outlook for almost 30 years.

Then in his late 20’s he began going through a deeply spiritual metamorphosis and began to learn what life was really all about.

At the height of this transformation he went to church for the first time and prayed for God to help him.

Two days later he was arrested on 17 felony counts including 7 counts of attempted murder on a law enforcement officer.

He was misunderstood. Ashamed. Given up on. He learned what it means to be unwanted and looked down upon.

Facing a 300 year sentence there was nothing he could do but pray and trust that what God had told him was true.

No one could make sense of what had happened. It was as wild situation.

Eventually, the charges were almost completely dropped to nearly everyone’s surprise.

There is a God who sees, a God who knows. And sometimes good things have to fall apart so better things can come together.

Joshua did 3.5 years in prison. Lived in the most dangerous dorm on the camp and witnessed hundreds of gruesome fights and beatings. Lived with fear, regret, torment. But through all of it, there was always a voice saying ‘One day you will leave this place’. It was the voice of hope and new beginnings. The voice of God.

Before prison he had been a professional firefighter in a big city and a family man. Delivered babies, went into burning buildings, went to car wrecks and shootings and house fires and chemical spills. Did CPR. All that sort of stuff. Helped people who were having the worst day of their life. He’s been a giraffe who sticks his neck out for other people pretty much his whole life.

Now God has built a ministry through him. It is a wonder in the wild. Without any denominational support he has carried out hundreds of missions and meetings in various places, encouraging those who need encouragement the most and helping people to meet God.

Perhaps better than anyone, Joshua knows that God can use broken people to do wonderful things. He knows that the ones everyone else have given up on and counted out are just the ones God is looking for.

When he is not traveling he currently lives in Indiana with his wife Brandy.

He preaches every Friday night and every Saturday afternoon online or in person, rain or shine, no matter where he is or what’s going on and has been doing so for years and years.

Burn Bright started at a kitchen table. Eventually Joshua upgraded to a folding table. Unable to afford a tripod Joshua he started out the online part of the ministry by setting a camera on a very tall pile of books. This picture is of an fellowship 2018-ish. Burn Bright is currently functioning out of a small home office in Southern Indiana it has outgrown and is working to expand facilities as funds allow in order to fulfill its mission more effectively.

The last fire Joshua (seen left) ever responded to as a Captain when he was a professional fireman. It was a church on a very cold night.

His wife Brandy (seen here) often travels with him and is an invaluable help at the meetings.

Joshua often uses object lessons to inspire and explain spiritual things through parables. Seen here at a public park in Montana during a 31 day tour around the United States with stops in public parks in 2023.

  • All of them. Just like Jesus.

Burn Bright is a non-denominational, grass roots independent ministry. Joshua has held meetings in Baptist, Methodist, Evangelical and SDA churches. He has also held various programs in schools of different denominations and everything in between.

Joshua is a firm believer that you don’t have to agree on everything with somebody to worship God alongside them. He is not funded by any organization and relies on supporters like you to keep going.

  • If you are interested in a meeting Joshua has character reference letters from people, leaders and facility managers in 15 different states.
